Now that we’ve had a chance to see a time capsule home with yesterday’s
featured Palmer & Krisel-designed home in Palm Springs’ Racquet Club
Road Estates, here’s a look at a very well-renovated similar home. With three
bedrooms and two bathrooms in 1,225 original square feet, a two car garage and
an in-ground pool all on a 10,400 square-foot lot, the asking price on this
home is $595,000.

The renovations on this home occurred in early 2014,
updating an unflattering combination of late 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s
modifications that had previously been made to the home. The exterior of the
home is clean, desert modern architecture with stone and block accents
surrounding the stucco home. The front yard is a mix of desert materials, with
palms, cacti, shrubs and agave.

Kitchen and entry are open to each other |
Inside, the home has been decked out in Palm Springs modern.
The original ¾ height wall separating the kitchen from the entry has been
removed, allowing visitors and guests to take in the entirety of the home and its
living areas from the front door step. This also means that any other visitor,
welcome or not, has a great visual of all living areas as well.

The kitchen has been renovated with dark grained euro-style
cabinetry, quartz counters and stainless steel appliances. A large island sits
between the kitchen and dining room, illuminated with Tom Dixon-style white Beat
pendant lights. A chrome sputnik-atom chandelier hangs in the dining room,
and the living room is anchored by a large fireplace.

The living, dining and kitchen all sit on the east side of
the home, while the bedrooms all sit on the west. The master bedroom sits at
the rear corner of the home, and features a sliding glass door accessing the
backyard. The other two guest rooms sit at the side and front corner of the
home, and have elongated windows allowing for additional light to flow into the
rooms. Both bathrooms have been sharply updated, with cabinetry
that matches the kitchen, undermount sinks, streamlined light fixtures and walk-in
showers with multi-tonal vertical grey tile surrounds.

The backyard is a large, entertainer’s paradise with a large
in-ground pool and spa, lots of patio space and a large grassy area along the
east side of the yard. The garage is open to the backyard, nicely separated from
the pool area with Orco Block’s
Cordova pattern decorative screen block.
This is a well-done home, with great finishes, modernist details
that embody the midcentury modern roots of the home, and lots of clean, white
lines.
