Front of home |
Built in 1963 on the 12th fairway of the Las
Vegas National Golf Club is this Palmer & Krisel-designed tri-level home
which has been recently flipped. Expanded to 2,020 square feet, this home
includes four bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms, a two car garage and an
in-ground pool all on a 12,100 square-foot lot with an asking price of
$324,900.

Driveway and front of home |
Last sold in November 2015 for $172,000, this home has seen
recent updates to nearly every surface, yet carries one major drawback: the
home is located directly on a six lane, 45 mph arterial roadway surrounded by
offices. For those who don’t mind traffic noise this won’t be an issue, but for
most buyers there’s better locations at comparable prices to be found.
Out front, the exterior of the home has been recently
painted and fresh generally drought-tolerant landscape has been installed. The
original two-car carport has been converted to a two-car garage, enclosed with
board and batten siding matching that of the original façade of the home. The
air conditioner and ductwork has unfortunately been mounted directly above the
front door, which creates an unsightly view to all who enter the home.

Living room |
A pair of traditionally-styled leaded glass double doors
leads past a small foyer into the open living and dining rooms. The original
floating modernist fireplace has been replaced with a very traditional
stone-veneered fireplace with hearth. Luckily, the original clerestories and
windows are still intact throughout the living room, while the floor-to-ceiling
windows and glass sliders offer views of the backyard and golf course beyond.

Kitchen |
The kitchen has been updated in a current, contemporary
style which is in keeping with the modernist roots of the home. Clean, simple
white shaker cabinets are topped with grey quartz counters and accented with
glass subway tile backsplashes. Stainless steel appliances and a farmhouse sink
round out the kitchen, which has been opened to the living area.

Two secondary bedrooms are located upstairs at the front of
the home, and are essentially identical with the exception of a mismatched set
of mullioned windows in one room. The master bedroom sits at the rear of the
upper floor, and has been expanded with a large dressing area, sitting area and
a balcony overlooking the backyard. The master bath features a soaking tub,
stall shower and double vanities. The lower portion of the home incorporates a
family room area in a labyrinth-like set up along with a half-bath.

Pool |
The backyard incorporates a small covered patio, newly
installed turf and a large in-ground pool. Mature trees are combined with newer
plantings, and a combination of open and solid fencing offers views and privacy
from the adjacent golf course.
This midcentury home will only appeal to a specific buyer,
but there’s great opportunity to own a decent-sized golf course home for those
who don’t mind living on a busy road.
