Built in 1954 by the Alexander Construction Company is this
Corbin Palms Palmer & Krisel-designed home new to the market. With three
bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms in 1,392 square feet, a two-car garage
and an in-ground pool and spa on a 7,500 square-foot lot this home carries an
asking price of $595,000.

Front entrance and garage |
The front of this east-facing home sits behind a wrought iron
fence and gate, separated from adjacent Jumilla Avenue by a small hedgerow
which helps conceal the fence. A well-proportioned front lawn sits between the
sweeping driveway and the home. The home is a Corbin Palms Plan H-1, and sits
with its gable end towards the street with original clerestory windows still
intact. The original carport has been converted to a two-car garage, and the
front door has been replaced with a much more traditional replacement.
Once encompassing four bedrooms, the wall between the fourth
bedroom and kitchen has been removed to create a private dining area. A half
bath sits off the entry, while the kitchen and living areas sit towards the
sides of the home and the bedrooms sit towards the rear.

Living room and fireplace |
The living room appears to still contain its original
parquet wood floors, open-beamed ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows
overlooking the side yard. A wide red brick fireplace anchors the northwest
corner of the living room, modified over the years with only the simple
addition of a small mantle.

Kitchen and bedroom-converted-to-dining room |
The kitchen has been updated with shaker-style cabinetry,
granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. A long window has been
added between the kitchen and living room, housing a wine glass rack and can
lights.

Hallway and secondary bedroom |
The home never featured a ‘true’ master, instead it sandwiches
a bathroom between two of the bedrooms on both the north and south side of the
home (minus the bedroom now converted to a dining room). The remaining three
bedrooms lie in their original configurations, with floor-to-ceiling windows
and vaulted ceilings. The bathroom shown contains its original medicine cabinet
and mirror, but otherwise has been updated.

Hot tub at rear of home |
As the home sits lengthwise on its lot, it has a wider side
yard with a shallow backyard. A large covered patio sits off of the
north-facing living room, surrounded by mature trees and shrubs. Just beyond
the covered patio, a large curvilinear swimming pool wraps around the corner of
the home, while an above-ground sap sits at the back of the property. Privacy
shrubs surround the entire backyard, creating a intimate retreat-like setting.
There’s lots of potential with this home, and like most in
Corbin Palms, this one should be a fast sell at its current price tag.
